Dennis Ritchie

October 12th 2011; Dennis Ritchie died aged 70

October 30th, proclaimed unofficially as Dennis Ritchie Day by Tim O'Reilly.

Dennis achieved many great things with IEEE and AT&T & Bell Labs and changed everyones lives. As the inventor of C and a co-founder of Unix Dennis made the foundations for the operating systems of everyday life, and languages many people frequent for pleasure and for business.

Sean Davis wrote a tribbute in C to Dennis;

Goodbye, Dennis. I wouldn't be what I am without you.
Poured out forty bits for our dead homie.
