Performance (notes from 17.4):

vMX has the following limitations with the nested VM model:

• Minimum of 4 vCPUs is required and 16 GB memory for lite mode.
• Minimum of 8 vCPUs is required and 16 GB memory for performance mode.

vMX does not support these features with the nested VM model:

• Attachment or detachment of interfaces while a vMX instance is running
• Upgrade of Junos OS release

 

To access vCP:

Console into vFP using: jnpr / jnpr123
Telnet into vCP on 127.0.0.1:8601 using as root with no password.

 

Set a root password:

set system root-authentication plain-text-password

 

To enabled lite mode (disabled the default performance mode), requires a reboot:

set chassis fpc 0 lite-mode
